Doug is currently the National Corporate Director for IASIS Healthcare's Physician Practice subsidiaries. In this role, Doug has oversight for Quality and Risk Management within the network of physician providers. Doug also has responsibility for managing regulatory compliance activities.
In the most recent past, Doug served on the leadership team of a large managed care contractor. He made many presentations to organizations like MCNA, The Vanguard Group and The Cleveland Clinic. Doug holds a Master of Science degree He is a six-sigma black belt and has dual board certifications in Healthcare Quality and Healthcare Risk Management.
Patty brings more than 28 years of experience in the healthcare field dedicating those years to the disciplines of nursing; quality, risk, and case management; health information management; medical staff credentialing; and regulatory compliance. Patty has served as the Board Chairman for the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) certification board and was instrumental in developing the content for the national and international examinations for board certification in healthcare quality. In addition, Patty has been a Board member of the Quality Assurance Section of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).

Description
IASIS Healthcare set out to develop a framework for our Hospitals and Physician Practices to approach risk management so all risk activities are aligned. Out of this initiative, activities became seamless across the continuum of care. This continuity has fostered unprecedented system insight into areas of risk, risk financing, risk transfer and cultural barriers to removing risk. This presentation reviews the insights we gained and includes an enterprise-wide review of:
1. The operational and risk structure from physician offices to the hospitals 2. Risk management, risk transfer and risk financing successes and challenges 3. Provider and staff challenges when integrating risk activities
