Graham Billingham, MD, FACEP, FAAEM has over 20 years of experience as a practicing emergency medicine physician. He speaks nationally on emergency medicine and has lectured in 200 CME courses on risk management, operations, documentation, patient safety, information technology, coding and billing, and malpractice prevention. He is the Chairman of the Emergency Medicine Patient Safety Foundation. He is currently Chief Executive Officer and President of EPIC, RRG. He has served on ACEPs Medical Legal Committee, founded and served as Medical Director for The Center for Emergency Medical Education, and was a co-founder of the National Emergency Medicine Board Review Course.

Description
With nearly half the population projected to be over 65 by 2020, medical providers must understand the unique needs and risks associated with these elderly patients and begin to identify and adopt alternative patient safety and risk management strategies. This program will focus on the unique issues specific to the geriatric patient that places this population at greater risk in the ED for a serious safety event. Participants will be able to demonstrate how to modify the care delivery methods and operational work plans for the ED to prepare for the large influx of elderly patients.
