Lisa is a Compliance Manager at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Lisa is the past president of the Saint Louis Area Healthcare Risk Manager's Group.
She worked with the hospital's Patient Safety and Risk Management department from 2006 to 2011. Before joining BJH, she worked as an Administrative Fellow in the VA Hospital system and in a plaintiffs' personal injury firm in St. Louis. She received her BA in Political Science in 2001 from Knox College followed by her JD and Masters in Healthcare Administration in 2005.

They say it takes seven years to change a culture. Creating a "culture of safety is no different. Yet, many health care institutions treat their Just Culture Implementation like it is any other process improvement project. This presentation will describe why the Just Culture is vital to a successful risk management program. It will also detail the journey taken by Barnes-Jewish Hospital in fostering the Just Culture. It will provide insights for institutions that are just starting to consider the Just Culture, as well as those who have already developed an implementation plan.
