Pamela Burger is the Chief Risk Officer for Baystate Health, Inc. in Springfield, Massachusetts where she has the responsibility for effective operations of the system's risk, claims, and insurance programs.
Ms. Burger has over thirty years experience in health care risk management and twenty two years managing a captive self-insurance program for a healthcare integrated delivery system.
She implemented an offshore captive insurance program for professional and general liability for Baystate Health in 1989 followed by an in-house claims administration program in 1991 and a Community Physician Insurance Program for non employed physicians in 2004.
She is an active member of the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management the Massachusetts Society for Healthcare Risk Management and has held board level positions in healthcare and insurance related organizations at the state and national level.
Charles is currently the Director of Risk Management at Temple University Health System having previously served as Vice President of Risk Management at Tenet Healthcare in Dallas and as Director of Risk Management at Beth Israel Medical Center in Boston.
Charles has extensive experience in building Risk Management programs from the ground up and enjoys the challenge of a clean slate approach when designing and implementing risk management programs in integrated delivery systems. He firmly believes that the key to a successful program is the operational and financial tools necessary to drive risk financing costs down while driving patient safety forward.
Bill McDonough is a Management Principal and Executive Broker for Integro Insurance Brokers based in Boston, MA. Bill has worked on the insurance and risk management industry for more than twenty-five year having both served a professional risk manager in healthcare settings and as a brokerage consultant.
Bill’s professional focus is with alternative risk financing vehicles including captives and RRGs as well as risk management and loss prevention consulting.
He is active with ASHRM and several state chapters and speaks regularly across the US.
