Susan is responsible for the development of insurance products for healthcare]related
business as well as risk management and loss control services in support of Allied World
insurance offerings globally.
Susan obtained a BS degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Hartford. She earned
her JD degree from the University of Connect icut School Of Law, where she was editor]inchief
of the Connecticut Insurance Law Journal. Susan holds a Connect icut Nursing License
and is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. She is a Certi fied Professional in Healthcare
Risk Management, a former member of the Board of Directors and a Distinguished Fellow of ASHRM.

Description
This session will provide an understanding of the duties and emerging risks that D&Os of not-for-profit healthcare organizations face in the shifting healthcare landscape and provide strategies on how to manage them and protect the organization. Typical insuring agreements will be reviewed using situations, example and case studies focusing on regulatory, antitrust and criminal exposures. A check list for purchasing a D&O policy will be provided.
