Description
Alarm safety, particularly alarm fatigue, continues to be a topic of concern for many organizations across healthcare today. Understanding what alarm fatigue is and how you combat this issue will save lives or reduce injuries in your organization.
Reducing alarm fatigue and improving clinical alarm management is a complex issue that requires a proactive system’s approach. If there is not prompt alarm notification and response, or alarm limits are not set appropriately, then patients are at risk. A systems approach provides a viable way to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of alarm coverage and patient safety.
