Description
"It is critical that nutrition support professionals have the ability to
translate the science of body composition to the practice of nutrition
support in order to improve patient outcomes. In light of an aging
society and the implications of sarcopenia with advanced age, this
call to action cannot be underestimated. This symposium will focus
on the latest scientific developments in body composition models,
therapeutics and measurement by the foremost researchers in body
composition. In addition, the session will highlight advances in body
composition models in relation to clinical development of novel
therapeutic agents to restore body composition, especially in the
elderly, and a synopsis of innovative techniques used to accurately
assess lean body mass in the older adult."
