Description
"Home parenteral nutrition (HPN) is a complex therapy that may
result in serious harm if not properly prescribed, prepared and
administered. In addition, the home setting creates unique challenges
to patient safety that require focused attention. This program
will address safe practices in patients receiving HPN and the role of
the health care practitioner in optimizing care for these patients. By
attending this program, health care providers will learn to minimize
HPN side effects and complications while maximizing nutritional
status for their patients. This program will also emphasize the importance
of adequate patient education in optimizing safe practices."
