Description
"Clinicians commonly use routine biochemical tests to identify
parenteral nutrition dependent patients at risk for PNALD. Recent
literature suggests that this practice is unreliable and the use of newer
non-invasive techniques should be explored for early detection of
liver fibrosis in parenteral nutrition dependent patients. This cuttingedge
session will review the pathogenesis and incidence of PNALD
and will provide practicing clinicians with the newest evidence to
support changes in clinical methods of diagnosing, preventing and
treating liver disease in PN dependent patients."
