Karin Haustermans is chairman of the department of Radiation Oncology at the Leuven Cancer Institute in Belgium. She is specialised in GI and GU Oncology and has a part time radiobiology research appointment sponsored by the Flemish Government. She is head of the department of Oncology at the Catholic University of Leuven.
She is also the Scientific Project Coordinator of GENEtic pathways for the Prediction of the effects of Irradiation European Normal and Tumor tissue Bank and database (GENEPI-ENTB 2), a European project managed by ESTRO.
She serves as a member of the scientific council of IARC and chairs the scientific council of the Belgian Cancer Registry.
Karin Haustermans is author of 86 peer reviewed international publications.
