Description
During this session attendees will gain practical knowledge about implementing lung cancer genotyping into a clinical practice, including methodology, choosing patients, relaying results, and cost considerations. At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will be able to do the following: 1. Explain why multiplexed genotyping is becoming the preferred method for clinical testing in lung cnacer, including the increasing difficulties of trying to individually select specific tests for specific patients and issues of tissue resource utilization. 2. Define new advances in evidence-based medicine to effectively relay the rationale for testing and the implications of various results to patients. 3. Recommend improvements for communication within multidisciplinary care teams about the process of obtaining diagnostic tissue specimens related to lung cancer.
