Description
"Food security, nutrition, health care and environmental sustainability are among Africa's biggest challenges. Africa's ability to effectively use existing and emerging biotechnologies will depend largely on the level of investment in building physical, human, institutional and societal capacities. This session will highlight the role biotechnology can play for development in Africa and the strategic role that technological innovation plays in economic transformation. It will also highlight how Africa can adapt technologies from other countries, such as Brazil."

Objective1:Highlight needs and attract possible partners to help achieve its sustainable agricultural systems.

Objective2:Outline priority areas in developmental agricultural biotechnology.

Objective3:"Identify critical capabilities needed to develop safe use of agricultural
biotechnology, and the roles other countries can play."
