Description
"Global health product development partnerships (PDPs) are not-for-profit organizations that have taken leading roles in developing the next generation of medical solutions for diseases affecting the world's poor. Organized and managed in many ways like their for-profit biotechnology counterparts, these PDPs have been funded by national governments, charitable foundations and private entities. They have revitalized the once non-existent development pipelines for neglected tropical diseases. These PDPs have accessed the resources and technical capabilities of the biopharmaceutical industry via partnerships with the private sector. This session, featuring executives from leading PDPs, will highlight the work being done by these organizations, their industry partnerships and future goals.
bring together leaders from the global health community representing academia, industry and investors, and they will review recent examples of innovative financing for global health and engage the audience in an interactive discussion on the global health product development process."
