"Sustainability has become an increasingly popular buzzword as we look to better use limited natural resources, develop more environmentally sound industries and products, and improve human health and well being. Strategic application
of biotechnology is a major key to achieving these goals. Such applications include: manufacturing new materials from renewable and sustainable resources, building environmentally sound industrial processes and developing innovative answers to worldwide health care issues. This session will discuss a variety of corporate and global initiatives aimed at creating a more sustainable world economy."

Objective1:Explain how the "sustainability" buzzword translates into real-world applications.

Objective2:Demonstrate the breadth of global and transnational efforts to build multiple sustainable industries.

Objective3:Display the variety of technologies, processes and industries that are exploiting sustainable strategies.
