"A panel of experts representing BIO, companies, government and lobbying firms will address the mechanisms of how Congress makes decisions affecting the biotech industry and
the strategies available to influence those decisions. Panelists, experts in their fields, will discuss the basics of congressional activity, how companies prepare to communicate with Congress, the effectiveness of those communications and the value of outside consultants in augmenting the advocacy activities."

Objective1:Provide a core level of knowledge of how Congress works, and hear from actual congressional staff about the do's and don'ts of communicating on Capitol Hill.

Objective2:Identify best practices within biotech companies regarding communication and lobbying in Washington.

Objective3:Convince companies large and small about the importance and value of interacting with Congress.
