History has shown that the successful development of biotechnology depends not just on good science, entrepreneurship and access to capital but, very importantly, depends also on a positive political environment. What are the latest communications and advocacy trends in understanding and shaping the political context using examples from Europe and the United States?

Objective1:Analyze the political context in which the biotech industry is emerging and how public opinion shapes the political environment.

Objective2:Provide the tools and techniques used to understand and shape the politics of biotech.

Objective3:Share techniques to build capacity of industry representative bodies across the world and help them effectively manage the political process.
