Description
The development of biotechnology is based on the development of bioclusters where biotech companies can develop. More and more different bioclusters identify in specialization a competitive asset. The specialization trend is based on the possibility to work in synergies with other biocluster that are complementary. This is particularly true when the company located in a biocluster reaches the point of development where the capability to produce bio-products become a competitive asset. Such capability requires a critical mass of activities in order to survive following a self-sustaining model that assures cost saving, quality adaptability and flexibility to the needs of SMEs.

• Present state-of-the-art initiatives and the possibility of sharing solutions in supporting the growth of the biotech sector
• Answer questions such as do we have to build the whole set of facilities in each bio-cluster to assure the cluster development and if not, what could be shared and under what conditions
• Evaluate the practical possibilities of collaborations between EU and US
