Description
The HIV/AIDS pandemic causes an estimated 2.5 million new infections each year. Although daily drug treatment can change this lethal infection to a chronic disease, global control and erradication will require successful vaccines. In this session we discuss challenges and setbacks for HIV/AIDS vaccine and highlight ongoing clinical stage development of vaccines for both prevention and treatment.

• Provide an update on progress in the field of HIV/AIDS vaccines
• Report on preventative and therapeutic vaccine concepts in the clinical pipeline
• Present how vaccine failures have led to new approaches
