Description
Biotechnology has become the must-have industry for a growing number of regions in the U.S and abroad. Its promise of high-paying jobs and potential future growth has attracted worldwide attention. A handful of metropolitan areas have created sustainable, successful biotech centers. How do secondary markets compete with the established Biotech hotbeds to become prosperous communities in their own right? For over 10 years the Southeast has been growing its Biotech industry through a coordinated effort. This panel discussion will explore critical factors necessary to create a Biotech hub. These factors provide the basic ingredients to start and sustain Biotech companies. Gleam practical insight as to how this has been accomplished on a regional level in the Southeast.

• Discuss the critical factors required for success from both private and public viewpoints
• Explore the opportunities available to secondary markets in the 21st century
• Evaluate the role of venture capital, recruitment of seasoned management, economic development agencies and world-class research institutes
