Description
Product development partnerships (PDPs) are becoming important contributors in the global public health community by developing essential tools to support disease control efforts. Utilizing partnerships across the spectrum, PDPs leverage existing expertise in drug development to develop and make available new treatments for neglected diseases. But how exactly do PDPs work with technology innovators in the biopharmaceutical industry, and what does each side take away from the experience? At what point is the partnership viable? How can it be made a win-win scenario? And how can we leverage the sharing of risk and success to ensure a long term model that works for both parties? This panel will examine various types of partnerships between PDPs and their private sector collaborators and focus on what has worked, what hasn''t, and what the future might hold.

• Discuss different types of PDP-pharma relationships
• Explore how to align the goals of pharma and PDPs to make this collaborative model a strategic consideration for each party from the very start
• Discuss what benefi ts each side can take away from this model
