The landscape is changing significantly in regard to communications and relationships between biopharmaceutical companies and health care providers. This panel will address the recent changes; how companies should address them; and what else may be on the horizon, including federal and state legislation and non-governmental efforts.

• Update regarding voluntary efforts, such as the PhRMA code; state laws, including Massachusetts and DC; regulation of continuing medical education (CME); and potential federal legislative efforts in 2009
• Describe how companies can comply with these policies, laws, and regulations
• Discuss where such efforts may be headed in the future
