Description
Economic woes, environmental needs and regulatory changes are shaking the foundations of many biomanufacturing companies. How are these organizations adapting to the present and planning for the future? What trends do they see? What events and forces do they anticipate? In this session, three leaders in the industrial biotechnology sector will share how they have applied new technologies and new ways of thinking to the twin challenges of rising costs and environmental concerns. Panelists will focus on the strategic decisions and forward-looking assumptions that anchor their short and long-term planning. The discussion will include companies from different corners of the industrial biotechnology sector: enzyme production, agricultural-industrial biotech and traditional chemical (now biochemical) manufacturing.

• Identify trends and predictions that most influence the decision-making of thought leaders in industrial biotechnology
• Assess and compare the adaptive responses and strategic plans crafted by thought leaders to meet challenges and seize opportunities under various future scenarios
• Panelists and attendees generalize from cited examples to broader themes that will mark the future of industrial biotechnology
