Description
"Brazil is the main farming frontier in the world and a leader in agribusiness research. The country is achieving significant results in two main areas:transgenics and genomics. Research is geared not only to the development of GMOs with agronomic properties but also to the development of transgenic organisms with improved features, such as strains of eucalyptus with a greater cellulose output and new varieties of sugar cane with higher sucrose content. Brazil has also been running several EST and genome projects of organisms of agronomical and environmental relevance. This session will showcase the cutting-edge agricultural biotechnology research carried out inside the country and shed light on partnership opportunities for

leading foreign companies and research institutions."
