Within the framework of the "Support and Development of Advanced Technologies Program", Argentine has selected biotechnology as an important field to take into account. In the biotechnology industry, Argentina has decided to strongly promote the development of the technology of recombinant proteins obtained from milk produced by transgenic animals,especially for biosimilar products. This Program has already achieved succesful results that will be described by the researchers of a leading company in this field. The session will also offer a description of the regulatory framework for transgenic organisms and a perspective on the governamental instruments for the support of biotechnology activities, addressing the existing ones as well as upcoming ones derived from a recently approved law for the promotion of biotechnology.
