This general session will discuss the financial crisis that led to the Financial Rescue Package and the impact of the crisis on the insurance industry. Our panelist will provide some background on the situations leading up to the financial crisis and will show comparisons and contrasts between to the insurance and banking industries. The financial results of the 2008 insurance industry as well as insights into the underwriting cycle will be discussed.
