Description
With increasing reliance on demographic trends for underwriting and pricing of many insurance coverages and for the determination of risk parameters for ERM, how do changes in demographics affect the insurance industry? Do small changes in where the population lives (for example, moving to a coastal area when reaching retirement age) affect a company's risk to catastrophe prone areas? What demographic changes are of interest to insurers? How is this demographic data captured and monitored? Are there centralized clearing houses, or do companies data mine their own unique demographic data?
This panel will discuss the importance of demographic changes on the insurance industry as they impact predictive modeling, ERM models, and overall product development.
