Description
This session will explore recent developments and emerging issues in Medical Professional Liability insurance and reinsurance. As the unemployment rate continues to hover well above the historic average and this country struggles to recover from the worst economic recession since the great depression, President Obama's primary legislative priority continues to be the healthcare reform. While it's still unclear what direction the healthcare reform will take, it is clear that the healthcare reform debate and, if enacted, implementation combined with other forces - economic, legislative, demographic and social - are likely to have profound impacts on the Medical Professional Liability insurance industry. Exploring these changes and their impacts will be the focus of this session.
