This session will review the development process and implementation strategy adopted for a new governance model for the Canadian Public Relations Society. The new model needed to ensure the long-term operational efficiency, better decision making and professional and financial viability of the Society. The presentation will cover the historical situation, the identification of the need for a new model, the research that was conducted and the communications strategies that were developed to engage the membership in the process. It will also highlight the reasons to undertake the initiative and the immediate benefits that were realized, and conclude with the measures of success.
