Description
The National Do Not Call List (DNCL) allows Canadians to reduce the number of telemarketing calls they receive. For more information on the DNCL, click here.
The CRTC's Do Not Call List affects all organizations that have telephone interactions with their members or the general public. CSAE arranged for a special 90 minute webcast presentation on the List, its implications for associations and the various steps that can be taken to ensure compliance. It was presented by Cathy Allison, Manager, Telemarketing Regulations of the CRTC who is one of Canada's leading authorities on the National Do Not Call List.
The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), established by Parliament in 1968, is an independent public authority that reports to Parliament through the Minister of Canadian Heritage. The CRTC has the authority regulate and supervise all aspects of the Canadian broadcasting system, as well as to regulate telecommunications common carriers and service providers that fall under federal jurisdiction.
