Description
The future of association volunteering is mobile! With more than 3.3 billion mobile devices in use worldwide, associations have a huge opportunity to re-think the way they engage their volunteers. Busy, stressed and tired people who might otherwise remain uninvolved can now participate in their associations in meaningful ways on their own schedules and on their own terms. This session will examine some of the new technologies that make mobile volunteering possible, and share core principles participants will be able to apply to the design of powerful micro-volunteering opportunities that create real value.
Learning Outcomes
1. Explain how the rapid global proliferation of mobile devices is changing the way the world uses the Web.
2. Explore how new mobile technologies disrupt traditional forms of volunteer engagement, and enable micro-volunteering and the crowd-sourcing of organizational tasks.
3. Apply the principles of mobile volunteer engagement to the design of meaningful opportunities for engaging their most important contributors.
