Description
This presentation will review the development of an outcomes measurement system which employs email and assisted telephonic outreach to EAP participants at two time periods to determine the effect of EAP services on reported absenteeism and presenteeism. Data from over 3500 participants demonstrated a savings of 2.5 days on average for absenteeism and 4.5 days for presenteeism. The presentation provides suggestions for translating these outcomes into a meaningful value proposition to customers. In so doing, the presentation will also provide a brief review of the research and practical issues related to absenteeism and presenteeism and their impact on the workplace.
Attendees will be able to:
1. Design simple measures of absenteeism to facilitate demonstration of EAP value.
2. Identify three potential customer objections to the importance and validity of reduced absenteeism.
3. Articulate responses to three challenges of the importance of absence measurement.
