Description
How does a military deployment effect a family unit? How can employee assistance professionals help? Discuss the stages of the emotional cycle of deployment including issues relevant to stages before, during and after deployment and the impact on families when one or more members are deployed and when there are multiple deployments. The presenters, drawing on experience working with soldiers and their families during Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom, will provide a broad overview of military culture, giving attendees insight into the situational underpinnings that affect employee assistance work with this population.




Learning Objective 1:) Attendees will recognize the impact of military deployment on the family and common issues seen by EA professionals.

Learning Objective 2:) Attendees will receive tools for responding to the emotional cycle of deployment and its impact on the family.
