Description
Every year billions of dollars and thousands of lives are lost to disasters. Businesses and individuals have developed and practiced emergency preparedness plans that save lives and assets. But after the 'METEOR FALLS', how do they recover? How do you move from preparedness to response? To assist in this transition, the presenters, have developed a practical CISM / Crisis Response FIELD GUIDE to help EA professionals deliver thoughtful and meaningful crisis response services to those individuals impacted. The presenters also address the importance of self care during and in the aftermath of the critical incident.

Objectives:
• identify effective strategies in performing an assessment and develop a plan of intervention to a critical incident;
• identify the personal impact of responding to critical incident and understand the importance of self care;
• identify factors that impact manager/supervisor's/union leader's ability to lead employees through the critical incident.
