Successful organizations understand the link between employee well-being and organizationalperformance. In both good economic times and bad, these organizations are poised to respondto challenges and benefit from emerging opportunities. Using APA’s Psychologically HealthyWorkplace model as a framework for examining the key characteristics of a healthy, highperformingorganization, Dr. Ballard will discuss strategies for success in the economic recoveryand offer real-world examples from award-winning companies. The future of work has arrived! This session will show you how EA professionals can help create a work environment whereboth employees and the organization can thrive. Dr. Ballard currently serves as Assistant Executive Director for Marketing and Business Development atthe American Psychological Association. In this capacity he designs and directs efforts related to healthand well-being in the workplace. Dr. Ballard spearheads the Psychologically Healthy Workplace Program(PHWP), a collaborative effort between the American Psychological Association and the APA PracticeOrganization, designed to educate the employer community about the link between employee health andwell-being and organizational performance. Dr. Ballard received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology andhis MBA in Health and Medical Services Administration from Widener University, where he completedconcentrations in organizational and forensic psychology.
