The U.S. space program is in the midst of a transition of historic proportion. At Kennedy Space Center (KSC), it is anticipated that the workforce will be reduced by between 7,000 and 10,000 employees. In an effort to mitigate and manage the effects of this transition, the KSC EAP has collaborated with various NASAand contractor organizations to develop a comprehensive planto address workforce transition issues. Special emphasis wasplaced on outreach, training, and education to help employeesbetter manage the stress and uncertainty associated with thereduction in force.
