Description
Approved for 1.5 PDHs in Domain II
Without specific training, therapists typically add new skills under their old "therapist hat" rather than considering a different role. We are baffled at times when a good therapist provides an inappropriate crisis intervention. However, if we scratch the surface of most crisis response training programs we will find a critical missing component - clear role definition and boundaries for the provider. The session will examine the differences when we switch hats therapist to being a crisis consultant. What are common errors made by crisis consultants? Participants will take a quick questionnaire which will be used to generate discussions throughout the session.
