Description
Approved for 1.5 PDHs in Domain I
Employee Assistance (EA) professionals recognize the need to produce empirical evidence to demonstrate direct service outcomes and ensure the field’s sustainability. Historically, EAPs have struggled to conduct research due to barriers regarding proprietary data and the lack of skills and resources. Today, EAP leaders are seeking collaboration with researchers. This presentation reviews steps taken by a national EAP, in partnership with two major universities, to conduct research on EAP alcohol abuse and depression brief screening practices and outcomes. Results from this exploratory study evaluate the process of implementing standardized measures within the EAP and assess proximate workplace outcomes.
