Description
Approved for 1.5 PDHs in Domain
Employee Assistance Programs are often where the opportunity presents for early intervention in pathological gambling. It is crucial for EAPs to have current information and assessment tools to use when an individual or family member presents with depression or significant financial distress. Participants will gain an understanding of the history of gambling as it grew from European, Native American and Middle Eastern cultures. The presenter will discuss current data regarding the trends and demographics of problem gambling. EAP intervention can improve overall workforce productivity, strengthen the family system, and help prevent illegal behaviors such as embezzlement and theft.
