Would it surprise you to learn that it is not universally illegal in the United States for managers to intimidate, threaten, humiliate, ostracize, or gossip and spread rumors about their employees? An estimated 37% of all U.S. employees report having been seriously bullied at work - that’s 54 million people! This session will address the causes, costs, and consequences of bullying and its similarities to the problem of sexual harassment. Existing and proposed legal protections will also be addressed. In addition, the session will highlight workplace strategies designed to help eradicate bullying practices while building a "culture of respect".
