Description
In Norway, as in many countries, treatment for substance dependent employees has been fragmented and inconsistent resulting in productivity loss and/or job termination. Beginning in 2008, employees referred to EAPs by their supervisor began participating in a pilot substance abuse treatment program supported by trade unions, employers, the national government and funded by private insurance agencies. The current program is a combination of the Recovery Dynamics treatment model and the psychosynthetic orientation. This integrative model implemented at all levels of the treatment continuum encourages consistent and comprehensive personal growth resulting in recovery from addiction which in turn increases work productivity.

1) Describe the collaborative efforts of various stakeholders in the development of this model addiction treatment program;
2)Identify validated diagnostic instruments which differentiate between substance abuse and substance dependence;
3) Discuss how a psychosynthetic orientation is thought to achieve greater personal growth and retard relapse.
