Description
Healthcare reform, the Mental Health Parity Act and other recent changes have created significant opportunities and serious threats for the EA field. One area that has received increased attention is the role of wellness programs. What is the promise of wellness programs versus the clinical and financial outcomes? When would it make sense for the EAP to partner or integrate a wellness program into its service offering? What are the benefits of implementing an integrated EAP, wellness and managed behavioral health program? Case studies of integrated wellness programs use social networks and other technologies to bring these questions to life.

1) Increase the EAP professional s understanding of the complexity of variables under consideration when evaluating or consulting with the employer on a decision to implement a wellness program.
2) Leave the presentation with a road map of how to flourish rather than become extinct if the employer is considering an either or approach to eap and wellness.
3) Have an understanding of the decision maker's pain related to the decision to implement a wellness program.
