Description
This presentation will review essentials of clinically- and empirically-informed suicide risk assessment and intervention, with an emphasis on the clinical needs of active duty military reintegrating into the workforce in the Aghanistan/Iraq War era (and for the forseeable future). Suicide and attempted suicide among active duty military and recent veterans is at an all-time high, and EA has a vital opportunity to reduce risk, save lives, and prevent the widespread workplace trauma that occurs in the context when an employee attempts or commits suicide.

1) Use eight indicators to increase your ability to effectively assess suicide risk.
2) Identify common errors in many assessment practices utilize specific alternatives.
3) Customize risk assessment and intervention among returning veterans to increase efficacy.
