The 24/7 workforce offers corporations an economic edge, but results in physical and psycho-social problems for employees, leading to high attrition and lowered productivity. In countries like India, China and the Philippines which employ large numbers of shiftworkers, EAPs can partner with companies to help overcome the challenges of shiftwork, thus proving their worth even to this cost-conscious industry. This session presents current research based on EAP usage and training programs with white-collar shiftworkers in India. Highlighting critical issues and interventions to minimize the negative impact of shiftwork, it provides an invaluable source of information to the global EA professional.
