Description
When it comes to suicide, most workplaces find themselves thinking "it will never happen here." After a suicide impacts a workplace, these same organizations find themselves reacting rather than responding with intention. This expert panel draws upon many experiences on how to minimize damage and promote recovery during the immediate and longer-term response to a suicide. Particular attention will be focused on the challenging work of helping organizations through difficult terminations of vulnerable employees. Through storytelling and case examples, the presenters will engage the audience and share models of hope and healing.
1) Educate managers regarding increased suicide risk during reduction in force and at risk termination; 2) Apply unique critical incident response skills customized to dynamics of workplace suicide; and 3) Develop longer-term response plan for suicide that impacts the workplace.
