Description
It has been estimated that 65 to75 percent of the employees in any given organization report that the worst aspect of their job is their immediate boss and estimates of the base rate for managerial incompetence hovering at about 50 percent (Hogan, & Kaiser, 2005). Extensive research suggests that leadership practices directly impacts employee health including cardiovascular risk, absenteeism, and blood pressure. This presentation will review current findings about "killer bosses" and how leadership development can be a strategic initiative to directly affect bottom line health costs, productivity and engagement of employees at all levels.
