Description
There has been a dramatic and unprecedented increase in military reservists returning from Iraq and Afghanistan to rejoin the workforce. Many of those reservists have experienced considerable trauma during the time they were called to duty and continue to suffer in silence after returning to the civilian workplace. This session will highlight the challenges they face through the deployment cycle; and will provide the EA professional with tools to assess their unique needs. This will include an overview of the continuum of stress reactions to trauma and differentiate between EAP appropriate cases vs longer term care.
1) Identify the unique dynamics of Military Reservists through the deployment cycle; 2) Learn effective strategies to help reservists successfully transition to a civilian workplace; and 3) Educate on resources and provide assessment tools to assist in level of care determinations.
