Daniel Hughes, PhD, CEAP, Director, EAP, Mount Sinai Medical Center
Dr. Hughes is the Director of the Mount Sinai Medical Center's EAP and an Assitant Professor of Community and Preventive Medicine at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Currently he serves as chair of EAPA's Research Panel.

Gary DeFraia, Ph.D., Regional Director, Magellan Health Services
Dr. DeFraia has worked in employee assistance for 27 years. He earned
a Ph.D. from the City University of New York and a post-graduate certificate
in Alcoholism Studies from Rutgers University. He is board certified
in clinical social work and NYS licensed in psychotherapy and education.
His research interest is Organizational Resilience.
Anne Hammond, Consultant Psychologist / Director, pSynthesis
Anne works with organizations and their personnel to reach their
potential. Building on 20+ years experience in provision of EAPs - both
internally for Australian public sector agencies, and external-model for
organizations in Australia and Asia, Anne recently completed doctoral
research exploring key aspects of EAPs and strategic contributions to
“Organizational Wellbeing.”
Description
The 2011 Dissertation Forum will present the work of three practitioner/researchers focusing on workgroup resilience, organizational wellbeing and return on investment. The panelists from the United States, Australia and South Africa will present a global perspective on contemporary state of EA research. 1) Include current research findings in practice; 2) Demonstrate the importance of EA Knowledge Building; and 3) Obtain practical advice concerning advanced study in the EA field.
