Description
Following the tragic events in Tucson and President Obama's plea to be consciously civil, the issue of workplace civility has taken on greater importance. Organizations recognize the need to evaluate their work cultures and guide them towards greater civility. EA professionals are asked to support and direct these efforts. Learn the strategies EAP can effectively use to engage, educate, and empower leadership and management as they face the challenge of shifting workplace culture and longstanding management styles. This presentation provides a thought provoking analysis of the underlying factors that must be addressed in order to successful support these changes.
1) Identify characteristics of an uncivil workplace and workplace bullying and disrespect; 2) Describe the EA professional's role in supporting organizational initiatives to create a civil workplace; and 3) Develop a model for successfully engaging organizational leadership in this initiative.
