Description
SBIRT (Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment) for alcohol misuse is sweeping across the EAP industry as the evidence-based practice of choice to address the estimated $134 billion dollars that alcohol-related problems in the workplace cost in the U.S. From 2008-2010 GWU spearheaded the Alcohol Screening and Brief Intervention in the Workplace Project sponsored by NHTSA and SAMHSA/CSAT. GWU and pilot study sites (e.g., Aetna Behavioral Health, Optum, and ValueOptions) will make public the results of this study including sharing information about models implemented, challenges, learnings, purchaser response and resources to learn more about this important, new EAP offering.
1) Access a list of free resources to support their ability to adapt SBIRT within their own EAP, including links to the Workplace SB Guide and the AUDIT, a 10 question, validated screening tool.,
2) Be able to identify resources and information to help communicate the value of SBIRT to purchasers pre-sale as well as post.
