This FREE seminar entitled: The EAP and Behavioral Health Professional's Guide to Screening, Brief Intervention and Treatment is a skill-based training on SBIRT (Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment). This training brings together the tools that employee assistance professionals and other helping professionals need to screen clients for unhealthy drinking, deliver effective brief counseling, refer and co-manage with addiction specialists for EAP clients with serious problems and provide successful case management and follow-up. By participating in this training program, you will be able to use SBIRT to:
- Screen EAP clients for unhealthy alcohol use with brief, valid questionnaires such as the AUDIT-C and the AUDIT;
- Deliver effective brief counseling informed by Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive-Behavioral techniques;
- Link clients to medical or specialty addiction treatment services as needed, and work with physicians and other specialists in ongoing care coordination; and
- Provide follow-up and recovery supports to help clients to remain productive at work.
CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT:
There is no fee to attend this training program. Professional Development Hours (PDH) are provided by the Employee Assistance Certification Commission (EACC) and CE contact hours are provided by NAADAC, NASW and the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. - To view each session, click on the 'VIEW' button from the Session Information page, which can be accessed by clicking on the session names below.
- After watching all sessions you will have to complete and pass a short test that you will automatically be redirected to. You may retake this test until you pass.
- Once you have passed the test, click on the "My Account" tab in the Menu bar, and click on the "Please click here for your SBIRT Certificate" to access your certificate.
